Canning on Labor Day

We have a ton of carrots, onions and potatoes in our garden this year, so I borrowed Aunt Kay's pressure canner and made "End of Summer Soup". I was a little nervous about using a pressure canner by myself for the first time, so I went over in the morning and had mom watch and help to make sure I was doing it right. It ended up not being as stressful as I thought it would be! It was actually fun. I am going to invest in one now, so that next year I can do all of our food from the garden. I also have made jam and done green beans in the last week or so as well. I hope that it will save us some money and time in the long run! Thanks for letting me borrow the pressure canner and thanks for all of the help Mom and Aunt Kay!
