Meet Marley

Hey it's just us. We are just writing to know that we got a new addition to our home. Our yellow lab Bailey never came home so we decided we would get a new puppy. We named it Marley like the new movie thats out. We were lucky enough that the people we got Bailey from, had another batch of puppies so its like having the same dog, just younger. Hope everybody had a good Christmas. We sure did. Were both thankful for both of our families and all the love and support that they give us and for everybody else in our lifes. Have a great Holiday season. Love the Orrs.

Tagged!

Im a little late in noticing i got tagged because of school....so i figured i could just do it anyways since Im bored!

1. I am scared of fish! Random fact, but i have never enjoyed being around them! They are so gross!

2. I hate being late to anything! I always have to leave the house extra early to make sure I can get there at least 5 minutes early.

3. I don't like chewing noises. I have a hard time eating with other people because the sounds bother me!

4. I am anal about money. I cant stand not balancing the check book. My friends think its funny that I write EVERYTHING down....even if its 25 cents.

5. When i go running i have to have my shoelaces tied a certain way or it will drive me nuts the whole time.

6. The sound of someone scraping their teeth against their utinsels or scraping them against their plate is like nails on a chalk board to me! There are certain noises that im not so great at handling!

Okay...now that you all think im weird its time for you to name 6 random quirks about yourself~ Have fun!

A Breath of Fresh Air...FINALLY!!!

Well, Im guessing that everyone thought we were dead for awhile, but Im happy to report that after 12 long weeks at school, I have finally made it out alive! There has been a lot of things that have changed since I last posted, so this is probably going to be a long one. First of all there is school! I was about ready to pull my hair out several times this semester! I have never had harder classes than this before! I had a childrens lit class that I had to read 68 childrens books, write a summary for each one, do 8 lesson plans and present them and write 12 additional papers. Destry would always ask me if that was the only class that I was taking because everytime he saw me, that was what I would be working on. Needless to say, the last day of the semester I piled a huge pile of papers in front of the fireplace! I have been trying to run in at least one race a month since June. On thanksgiving day I had the opportunity to run in the Run to Feed the Hungry. There were over 500 people that participated. As you can see in the pictures, I had one of my best buddies with me :) I wish he could have ran with me, but the trail was really narrow and there were a lot of people, so he stayed and waited at the finish line with my amazing husband Destry. I really appreciate that he takes the time to come to all of my races and cheer me on. I would have taken a picture of me and destry too, but my camera died when I was getting it out. The only problem at that race was there was one member of the family missing...Bailey. She came up missing the sunday before Thanksgiving. We came home from church and she had knocked her kennel door open. Needless to say we were all heartbroken. I felt bad for Rugar because he has had her around since we got him as well. I miss having both of them around. I dont think there needs to be much of an explanation about where she went. About a month ago, I ended up having to quit my job at the school. I had to leave because I was so behind in school and it was taking a lot of gas money/time to drive to rexburg 2-3 times a day for tests and group projects. I loved my job with those kids, and they will always have a special place in my heart. They made me a card and we had a party the day I left. Its amazing how attached I was to the job. I guess a part of me felt like I was as close to heavanly father as I could be when I would work with those kids. It was a really hard decision to leave, but i know I did what was best. I just wish that some of the people in this world could see how close to heavanly father they really are. I started a new job up at the student health center pharmacy today. It is going to be nice to be able to do my homework while im working and not have to drive back and forth so much. The nice thing about the job is that they work my schedule around whatever classes that I want to take. Destry is still working as hard as ever. He worries so much about being able to be a good husband to me and i really appreciate it. I am so excited to be able to spend my first christmas with him. I love christmas and I am so excited to finally be able to focus on what is going on and have a life for a few weeks! Well, now that ive rambled long enough, I hope that everyone is doing good and has a good holiday season!

Fall Time

Hey its us again. Well we thought we better get on here and post another blog so we didn't get to 3 months without posting. Things are going great here. Were both staying busy with work and with school. Liz is still hard at it with school with mid terms right now. Seems like she comes home and all she does is homework. I always feel bad for her so i try to help out with all of the house cleaning. As for Destry. There's nothing different here. This last Saturday night my friend Mitch called. Him and his fiance Rosealynn called us and wanted to know if we want to go to dinner and then to a scary place. We got ready and meet them over in Rexburg. We went to eat and then we went to Idaho Falls to Doctor Slaughters. We waited in line for about a half hour but we finnaly got in. It was a blast. Mitch and Rosealynn walked in front of us most of the time so they were always the first ones into a room. When something would chase after them, we'd run after it so it hardley knew we were there till we ran past it. We had a really good time. We then came home. Sunday at church was long. It was our wards primary program and Liz and I teach the 5 year olds. It was hard to keep them still during the program. To top it off, Liz had to do sharing time. She did a really good job though. We came home from church, we cleaned the house a little and later in the day, we took the dogs out to Liz's parents. Liz'z mom had let there little dog Fritz out that morning to go to the bathroom. She looked outside a few minutes later and he was dead by the road. Somebody hit him and drove off. We felt pretty bad so we took our dogs out to cheer them up. They had changed a lot since they had last seen them. Our male Rugar had about doubled in size since they seen him last. It takes about all i can to lift him. We came home and went to bed. Then it was back to work and school on Monday. Average life for us.

Temple Blessings

Okay I know its been awhile since we really posted anything worth reading, but work has started and ive been a slacker. This post is going to be short and sweet because i have to go to work soon, but this is more or less like a journal, so i feel like i really need to say something today. I just want Destry to know how much i truly love and appreciate him with all of my heart. I've kind of had a rough last couple of days, and i havent said much about it, but while i was cleaning the house last night, Destry called me and asked me if i wanted to go to the temple. It was a spur of the moment trip and we had to hurry to make it down for the last session, but it was truly what i needed to make my week go a little better. I know that its something that people do all of the time, but i want him to know how much i appreciate it. It means so much to me to have someone who honors and holds the priesthood in my life, and that is willing to love and support me. The temple is such a special place, and its so nice to be able to have him want to go with me. I am so greatful to finally know what the blessings of the temple are all about this last few months and to be able to know that I get to be sealed to someone forever. Thanks so much sweetie! I love you and appreciate everything you do!

Well hi its us again. Things are going great here at the Orr house. We've just been staying busy probably more then we would like but thats okay. Liz gets to go back to work on Thursday so she's excited for that. She's been pretty bored at home by herself. As for me I'm still staying busy. This weekend were going down to Utah. My sister Nichole and her husband Brad are building a new house so were going down to wire it. It should be fun. Were excited to get to see our neices. It feels like forever since we have seen them. Our two kids are also growing. Since we don't have any kids to talk about like everybody else, you guys get to hear about our dogs. There both getting to be pretty good little hunters too. It's fun to see them grow from little puppies to good hunting dogs. Here's some pictures and a video on how there doing. Anyway thats about it for us. We'll talk to ya later. Love Destry, Liz, Bailey, and Rugar.

Memory Lane

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

CaTcHinG uP

This last couple of weeks has really been a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. First of all, my little sister Alison (shes 16) got some free movie tickets awhile ago and has been begging me to go to a movie with her. We ended up going to the movie Wall-E. There were some parts of the movie that were boring, but we made up for it by all of the fun we had. Its hard getting used to not seeing my family everyday, but its still so much fun when we do spend time together.
Yesterday I ended up going to the mall with my sisters and mom, and I found a way cute dress in sears for $4! I was so proud of myself! It was really fun to go shopping together and spend time together.
Finally, at the end of the day yesterday, one of my really good friends from high school called me and said that she was coming up from Boise. She asked me to go to lunch with her and spend some time doing whatever the next day. We got together this afternoon and it was a blast! Jacy locked her keys in the car, but other than that it was really fun. Their family owns a house right on the river, so we got in their boat and went up and down the river all afternoon. It was fun to be able to just relax and catch up with her. I miss her so much and wish that she could live a little closer!
Tomorrow is going to be filled with a lot of excitement. Destrys boss bougt us a whitewater rafting trip in montana. Im a little sad about missing the parade, and a little nervous, but im also excited for a new adventure! Im also getting ready for my 5k run tomorrow! I am a little nervous, but i have been running 4 1/2 miles everyday, so hopefully that will be enough to make it through the 3 mile run tomorrow! Wish me luck!~

Were still here!

Hey everybody. How are things going. The Orr clan is doing good. Were just staying busy. Liz is all done with summer school so she's keeping busy between cleaning the house, excersising, and chasing the dogs around. Work for me is really busy. It seems like we stay busy, enough to be home at six but not these past few weeks. It seems like we've just got dumped on. We have about 5 houses we have to trim out, about 3 spud cellars, and a bunch of other just little jobs here and there but everybody wants them done now. We also bought a new pickup. Here's a picture of it. So anyway were selling our Colorado. It's a 2005. Four door, silver, and with 74,200 miles. Were selling it for $17,000 obo so if anybody is interested you can call me at 317-0364. Anyway now that we got our sells pitch out of the way. I hope everybody is doing good and we hope to see everybody around. See ya.

He's home!

Well i decided after looking at everyones blog that we need to start taking more pictures and actually carrying a camera around with us!
Destry had to leave for Montana to go wire a spud pit on sunday. I know that a lot of wives go without their husbands for a lot longer than I did (he got back tuesday night) but it was my first time being alone without him, so needless to say I missed him a lot. There are a lot of times that i dont realize how much i take him being able to be home for granted! He is my best friend, and im definately glad that he can at least be home some of the time.
Well, i guess for me, I can say that summer is officially here after 11 o'clock tomorrow. Summer school ends and I have six weeks of nothing to do. I am so excited to have that extra time to maybe do some fun things and work around the house. I feel kind of bad about going that long without working, but i definately dont want to go back for another summer of missing all of the 4th and 24th of july events and slaving over a hot grill at big j's. I figured that 5 years was long enough to slave away for pretty much nothing :) Im not really sure about what im going to do as far as fun goes, but we'll see.

Camping

Well this last Friday night when i got off work, Liz and I decided we would go camping. Its something that we had decided to do when we got married and that we would always do with our kids someday. Well since we don't have any kids yet( and not for a while), we took our two furry kids. We went out to Kilgore and stayed at Paul and Ellen Romrells place. I worked for them all through high school and that and they have a huge lawn and a well out there so it was cheating just a little but ok for our first campout for the year. We cooked some hamburgers on our little grill we got for our wedding, and then we went to sleep, but not for long. We decided to put Bailey and Rugar in the back of the pickup and they could sleep there. Well Bailey made it a thing to whine all night long. We didn't hear a peep out of Rugar. Maybe its just a female thing. Just kidding. We probably only got a few hours of sleep. When we woke up we went fishing again. Liz was such a good sport about fishing again. We thought it was cute while she sat there, Rugar thought he'd just rest his head on Liz's lap. We caught nine fish and then came home and had all the fun part of coming back from a campout and cleaning stuff up. It was the first time Liz had ever been camping and I think she really enjoyed it. She's such a good sport to try something new. I love her and know that she will be an awesome mother someday. Anyway hope everybody is doing good. C ya.

It Works!!!!!

Okay so first of all I want everyone to know that im not usually that big of a baby about things, but when it comes to my fears, its embarassing to say, but it has always been FISH!!! (and flying in an airplane). I remember being as little as 6 years old sitting on the bank fishing with my grandpa and praying that i wouldnt catch a fish. I dont know what it is about fish, but they creep me out. Most people have a fear of snakes or spiders, but those havent ever bothered me. I think it has something to do with the texture of a fish or the way it moves...i dont know. Destry should be proud of me because that was the first fish i had ever caught(heavanly father didnt answer my prayers this time) and i touched the dang things! haha
This week has really been a happy one for me. I went in to the doctor and got all of my tests done and he put me on some medication to see if it would help the pin and needles sensation i get in my legs and back when i run. I was a little nervous about it at first, but i decided to be brave and try to run on wednesday. For the first time in awhile, I was able to run without any pain. (I made it to the salem highway and back!!!) I also ran on thursday and friday without any pain. That is a huge thing for me and i am so happy to be able to start getting back to somewhat of my normal self. I know that its always going to be something i will battle with my back, but knowing that i can start doing things like that without hurting as bad is such a blessing.
Im really excited that the weather has been so warm! I hope that it can stay a little nicer, but i also hope that we can have enough moisture for the farmers. My dad showed me the prices of his fertilizer and weed killer for the grain today and i about died!!! Its so expensive! I really hope that dad can get a good crop this year, he works so hard at it, and hasnt been paid of for his hard work in a long time.
I hope that everything is going good with everyone!

Fishing

Well it's been another week. I thought i would write this time so we can get the stories right. Liz sometimes streches the stories sometimes. Ha Ha! Sunday night after we had went to both of our families for fathers day, we decided to go out to Kilgore and go do some fishing. We left the house at about 6:00. We got out there at about 7:15. Now just to let everybody know right now, most people have a fear of snakes or spiders. Liz's fear is FISH. She can't even look at the huge Halibut in Sportsmans Warehouse, but she wanted to go. We took our two kids with us, (our dogs). We got to the creek and baited our hooks. My first cast into the creek and I had a fish on. Pulled it out Liz said that didn't take long. She wanted to try so i got her pole ready and showed her how to cast it out into the creek and to set the hook. Well within two minutes she had a fish on. She pulled it out of the water and started screaming I got a fish. It was a really nice fish so i yelled get it onto the bank just as it came off the line. A little bit later she was finnaly getting the guts to touch them and even put them on the line. I caught one and as she was bending over to put it on the stick I dangled it behind her and yelled hun. She turned around and jumped back when she seen that fish flipping in her face. I got called a few bad words but that was it. Anyway we ended up catching 11 fish, 12 if liz wouldn't have let the big one go. We left at 9:00 and came home. Then her mean husband told her she had to clean a fish. She winned cause the little teeth in the fishes mouth was poking her finger. It was pretty funny.

Anyway, that was all of our fun and excitment for the weekend. Hope everybody has a good week and talk to you all soon.

Just another day....

So this last week has been fun :) Nichole and her girls are visiting from Utah and it has been fun to be able to see the neices and have brit and the boys around a lot more. We miss having them around and being able to spend time with them. Its so fun to watch all of the kids together and see all of their different personalities. I watch Brit and Nichole take care of them, and i hope that i can be as good of a mom as they are one day! Brit is amazing! I dont know how she finds to time to chase her two little boys and stay in as good of shape as she is!
I really hope that i can spend this summer doing some fun things with destry. I miss him when he cant be around much, so i hope that i can see him a little more when im off work during july. I have never been camping before, so its something that i have always wanted to do, but I have never had the opportunity. I think it would be way fun!
There hasnt been a whole lot going on besides work for the both of us. Im a little nervous about tomorrow because i have to go in the the doctor for some tests again. I finally found a doctor that could help me with my back, and even though some of the answers they have found arent the greatest, its still nice to finally have an idea of what is going on and why it hurts so bad to run anymore. I guess one of the problems is that alot of the nerves in my legs, back and arms are damaged and they did some tests and xrays to find out if i have herniated disks or not, so i will hopefully find out tomorrow. They have to do an EMG, which is where they stick a bunch of needles in different spots to see where the nerves are damaged. I have had a hard time not being grouchy and frustrated but im trying to have a good attitude about it. I guess life just throws you different ways sometimes and you just have to learn how to deal with it.
This last couple of paychecks Ive been trying to get more food storage because of the price of groceries! A lot of people dont like it, but lately i have really loved going to winco! It seems like things are a lot cheaper when i go there, and i actually leave with a cart full of groceries instead of a few bags. I dont make any special trips down there just for groceries because of gas prices, but i guess it gives me an excuse to go to the mall too. (all i usually do is window shop though) I kind of wish that we could have gotten married earlier so we could have gotten all of our food storage done before the prices of everything went up so high!
Well thats all for now...i guess im getting a little better at this blogging thing right? haha

Its been awhile :)

Okay, so it has been awhile since we have posted anything...partly because i have been too lazy and partly because i have been busy getting everything ready for summer school! This last couple of weeks have flown by, and have been a little frustrating for me. My mom has had some health issues so i have had to drive all of the kids around and do some errands for her. Let me just say that experiencing her everyday routine has really made me appreciate all that she does as a mom. I know that there were a lot of times growing up that i didnt appreciate her enough, and i really wish that i could go back and be more appreciative. I guess that i can always make up for it now! Love you mom!

Destry has been as busy as ever with work, and there are a lot of times that i dont see him until 9 at night. It gets a little lonely here at the house at times, but it has definately given me an excuse to do aerobics and get a lot of cleaning and piano practicing done. I appreciate Destry so much for being such a hard worker and making sure that i am taken care of.

I got the opportunity to take two of the kids i work with to the zoo by myself the last week of school. It was way fun, but man was it hard to keep Lee from trying to climb the fence and get in with the animals! I love this job so much and i have had so many opportunities to grow and learn from it. I found out last week that they are willing to work with my class schedule so i will continue to work there in the summer and through the next school year. It is definately a blessing to have this job because i have seen that i really am going in to the right profession for school, and has given me a greater love for children with special needs. There are a lot of people that comment about how hard it must be to work in a special needs classroom, but they dont realize how much you really come to love the kids!

New At This!

Wow, so were pretty new at this, but here goes. We got married on January 4th, and the day after we got back from our honey moon i started my new job at the school and a new semester at BYU-Idaho! Life was so busy up until a few weeks ago when the semester ended. I feel like I have so much cleaning and different things to catch up on its not even funny! I am also starting to get back in to shape, which has been fun! I love to excersize! This last few weeks it has been great to be able to just come home and spend time with Destry! I felt like i wasnt even married while going to school because i would get h.ome late and have to go straight back to doing my homework. Destry is such a wonderful husband and Im glad that i have him! I love being a part of his family because they are so amazing.

Our Kids

Our Kids
These are our two kids. Bailey is our yellow lab and we got her on the 21st of Feburary. She's so smart and full of energy. Then our newest edition is Rugar our little black lab. We just got him on the 26th of April. He's definately more out spoken then Bailey is and doesn't let her push him around. That's all the kid's were going to have for now.

About Me

We got married on the 4th of Janurary. We dated for almost 3 years so lets just say we really knew each other before we got married. We got married in the Idaho Falls Temple. Liz just graduated from BYU-Idaho with a bachelors in Elementary Education. She will be teaching 1st grade at South Fork Elementary School in Archer this coming fall. I just finished my final year of school going into being an Electrian. I still work for Xtreme Electric and still keeping really busy with summer coming.
