I wore a button down shirt to school today. I only buttoned the top buttons and left the bottom undone and had a cute undershirt underneath it.
Student: Teacher, why dont you have your whole shirt buttoned up?
Me: Because that is the way I wear this shirt.
Student: (looking innocently and in a concerned voice) Well are you just fat or something and thats why you can't button it up but you are too embarassed to tell me that?
Me: (trying not to laugh) No, I just like to wear it that way.
Student: Okay, I know the real reason, but I wont tell anyone. Now come here so I can try to help you button up the rest of your shirt!
You've got to love kids! They are the only ones that can tell me I'm fat and I'm not going to cry about it! :)

I wonder where they learned that if you don't button your shirt your fat? He he, must be something their mom said :)
HA! OH my gosh, kids are seriously so hilarious! I can't believe they said that. haha you must love your job..Just reading your stories keeps me entertained.
Pretty crazy. How old are these kids?
They are all first graders. Gotta love them. The funny thing about it is today, the same little girl walked up to me and said, "Mrs. Orr, My mom used to be as skinny as you, but then she had babies!" haha
You gotta love those kids. Sometimes they come up with the funniest things to say.
Haha! I love my 5th graders, but hearing conversations like this really make me miss my 1st graders from senior practicum!
If you keep writing down all of your conversations with your students, you could write a book! It would be hilarious!
